Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesdays are a meme hosted by MizB of Should be Reading. Here are the rules if you wish to participate.
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
My teaser is: "Claire unzipped her backpack. At the bottom, rattling around loose, were two sharpened wooden stakes.
pg. 36 "Carpe Corpus" by Rachel Caine - The Morganville Vampires series

Book Challege

I started this blog a couple of months ago but really haven't done much with it. There was a lot of things going on, but once the holidays are over things should settle down. So I'm really looking forward to the reading challenge hosted by Book Chick City. The challenge is to read 24 books from Jan. to Dec. 2011.

Urban Fantasy and horror are my favorite genres, so this should be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to reading everyones reviews and to seeing what books everyone will be reading.

Book club

I just started a book club with my sister Linda. It's so new that we don't even have a name yet. the first book we will be reading is Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I'm really excited about the club and about reading this book, I've read so many good reviews. The following is just a few reviews by some people that you might recognize.
"I was so obsessed with this book I had to take it with me out to dinner and hide it under the edge of the table so I wouldn't have to stop reading. The story kept me up for several nights in a row, because even after I was finished, I just lay in bed wide awake thinking about it...The Hunger Games is amazing."
--Stephenie Meyer, www.stepheniemeyer.com

"The Hunger Games is as close to perfect an adventure novel as I've ever read. I could not put it down. Collins has transformed the ancient Labyrinth myth into a terrifyingly believable tale of future America. Readers will be hungry for more.
--Rick Riordan, author of The Percy Jackson Series and The 39 Clues

“[The Hunger Games] is a great book, and very thought-provoking. Read this along with your teen and discuss it.”
